Short version: CSSToolBox doesn't collect personal data, doesn't track you across the web, and doesn't share anything with advertisers. Most tools run 100% in your browser.

Overview

This privacy policy explains how CSSToolBox ("we", "our", "the site") handles information when you use the tools at csstoolbox.net. We've written this to be readable — not to fill pages with legal boilerplate.

CSSToolBox is a collection of free CSS utilities. The vast majority of functionality runs entirely within your browser. Nothing you type into a gradient generator, color picker or animation tool is transmitted to any server.

Data we collect

We collect minimal technical data automatically when you visit any website — this is standard for web servers:

Cookies & local storage

CSSToolBox uses localStorage (not cookies) to store your preferences:

csstb-theme — remembers your dark/light mode preference

This data never leaves your browser. It is never read by the server. You can clear it at any time via your browser's developer tools or by clearing site data.

No tracking cookies. We do not use any cookies that identify you personally, follow you across websites, or share data with ad networks.

Image uploads

The Image Color Extractor tool allows you to upload an image. This image is processed entirely within your browser using the HTML5 Canvas API. The image file is never uploaded to any server — it does not leave your device.

Analytics

We use basic server-side analytics to understand which tools are popular and where traffic comes from. This data is fully aggregated — we cannot identify individual users from it.

We do not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party analytics service that creates individual user profiles.

Third-party services

CSSToolBox loads a small number of third-party resources:

Google Fonts — typography. Google may log your IP to serve font files. See Google's privacy policy.
jsDelivr CDN — serves Bootstrap Icons CSS. See jsDelivr's policy.

These are asset delivery networks only — not advertising or tracking services.

Children

CSSToolBox is intended for use by developers and designers. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information through our contact form, please email us and we will delete it immediately.

Your rights

Because we collect so little personal data, most privacy rights are automatically satisfied. Specifically:

Right to access — there is almost no personal data to access
Right to deletion — if you've contacted us, email us and we'll delete your message
Right to opt out — there is no tracking to opt out of
localStorage data — clear it at any time in your browser settings
